(Optional) Fill tube with rubbing alcohol
By filling the ticksnap with rubbing alcohol, you can use this to disinfect bite wounds in the field, and when the tick is placed in the tube it will die.
This does not impact your ability to send the tick in for lab testing.
The only downside of this is it does have potential to spill if the tube is aggressively manipulated, this is not a common occurrence though.
Remove Embedded Tick
Keep your TickSnap Close when traveling, quick removal of ticks is VERY IMPORTANT!
If you have a tick on you or your pet, use one of the two tick remover slots at the bottom of the ticksnap. (one is for small ticks, the other larger ticks)
Place the V over the tick close to the skin as tight as possible then swiftly pull to dislodge the tick.
It is important to be close to the skin and tight around the head of the tick but refrain from squeezing the body of the tick.
Store Your Tick
Store your tick for later identification, or send into a lab if you are wondering if the tick could have gotten you infected.
There are plenty of labs to chose from, but likely testing should not be more than 50-100$.
The option to add alcohol will kill the tick making it safe to dispose of without fear of it hurting you or anyone else.
Each tick can have thousands of offspring so be proud of each tick you remove from the earth. You prevented suffering of our species.
The Storage Tube is also Removable!
By pulling on the tube around the viewing window, you can remove the tube which can make it easier to catch ticks, or collect them from the tick puller.
The patent pending design makes it easy to store and identify your tick. If you wish to send it in for testing at a later time, you have the ability to do that just send in the entire tube to the lab.
